PageOne to launch 2-way functionality service at BETT

Page One, the mobile messaging firm, will launch its ‘MoodleMobile’ plug-in module with 2-way messaging functionality at BETT, the world’s largest educational technology event between 14 and 17 January 2009.

Its first version was released last summer and allowed users of Moodle Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) access to its JANET txt messaging service, enabling large numbers of people to be contacted simultaneously.

The addition of 2-way functionality will now mean students for the first time can also use it to reply directly to their tutors or message sender. It is hoped such an easy and cost-effective system will help breed a creative and constructive dialogue within the Moodle VLE.

Clair Cawley, Marketing Director at PageOne, said, "Our commitment to innovation means that our customers are always at the heart of every decision. We are constantly striving to enhance our services, hence the launch of the 2-way functionality within the MoodleMobile module at BETT."

PageOne aims to wants to help educational institutions further enhance user experience and raise the likelihood of learning success. JANET txt provides a creative suite of secure SMS-based messaging services provided by the company on behalf of JANET (UK), one of the world’s leading infrastructures.

Ms Cawley added: "PageOne is pleased to be able to show how technology can successfully help educational institutions to quickly and efficiently communicate with students on a number of important issues including student timetabling, financial payments, appointment reminders, registration and enrolment, truancy, parent notification, library returns, classroom notifications and exam results."
