The results of the Worldskills competition have just come through. Gary Tuddenham receives Gold in Cabinet Making. Harry Smith won Silver in Graphic Design. Simon Nobel Bronze in Auto Body Repair and Jonathan Lloyd Bronze in Car Painting. Well done the UK Team.
This year our team won 4 medals and 9 medallions of excellence. Our UK Team’s average score was 507 and a World Ranking of 11th which is a one place improvement on the 2005 score. In 2005 we were positioned 12th in the World rankings with 3 medals and 7 medallions of excellence. So we are moving forward.
Medallions of Excellence were awarded to our team in Welding, Bricklaying, Joinery, Floristry, Hair, Beauty, Confectionery, Landscape Gardening and IT PC Network Support.
So over half of our competitors come away with an award, which is an excellent result. I, for one thinking that everyone who competed deserves an award. They stepped into the arena and gave their best and showed the World that the best of our up and coming UK skills.
