From education to employment

Select Education announces major rebrand

Select Education, which provides quality, individual service to more than 10,000 teachers and support staff, has announced it is rebranding to become Randstad Education after its parent company, Vedior, was bought by staffing services giant Randstad in July last year.

The managing director of Select Education, Peter Flannery, who has taken up additional responsibilities to head the new group, said: "The rebranding marks an exciting new phase in the company’s development. As the world’s second largest staffing services group, Randstad is a powerful global brand commanding more than 90 percent of the global HR services market.

"By undertaking a transition to Randstad Education, we will be able to take advantage of this whilst continuing to offer the extensive local branch network with which the Select Education name has become synonymous.

"For the 15,000 schools and 10,000 teachers and support staff who call upon our services, there will be no change at a local level. However, from a global perspective, the Randstad brand will provide real competitive advantage and enable us to attract and retain the best teachers, assistants and lecturers from anywhere in the world."

The full transfer is set to be completed in January 2011, as it undergoes a two year transitional period.

Mr Flannery adds: "The process will be managed with great care over the next 24 months to ensure a smooth transition that will bring greater opportunities for both us and our customers in the future."
