Is Ofsted terribly bad for quality in FE? | FE Soundbite #638

Welcome to FE Soundbite Weekly Journal Edition #638

This week we have had the SEND Green Paper and here is our sector response to the report and we also had the Schools White Paper.

Schools White Paper isn’t really FE… but the knock on effect of schools into FE, Skills, Employability, lifelong learning and attitudes of learning all do effect learners… so this is why we thought it was important to highlight.

We had a really interesting article from Marius on Rethinking how we fund Life Long learning, James Caan (yes that James Caan) on how Universities are failing Graduates and the Economy – They need a total overhaul… is well worth a read.

Chris from Catch 22 has written a really popular article on Rebuilding a ‘good’ apprenticeship system and Chris Thomson wrote a really interesting article on: Ofsted is terribly bad for the quality of Further Education… now for the title alone that is well worth a read!.. and I thought it was an interesting title for FE Soundbite this week… it certainly made me want to read more of what Chris was thinking.

Did you also check out my article titled Is this a Golden Chance to Improve the Apprenticeship Levy?

Anyway, I hope you enjoy FE Soundbite this week!
