A great Mo-ment for Adam

Sports student Adam Dower met Sir Mo Farah recently and grabbed a selfie with the long distance legend.

Keen sportsman Adam from Hornchurch studied sport at Barking & Dagenham College and secured a place at university last September.

He likes to keep in touch with the College, which he has very fond memories of; he regularly updates Errol Parker, Head of Sport at the College with details of his latest runs and other sporting events.

His latest success was in The Vitality Big Half earlier this month, beating his personal best of 1:38:52.

More than 13,300 runners took to the streets of London as part of The Vitality Big Half 2019, the capital’s community half marathon.

Sir Mo Farah won the event in a thrilling sprint finish as he prepares for the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon.

Somehow Adam managed to catch up Sir Mo afterward and grab a cheeky selfie. Adam said: “I didn’t get to speak to him because he was with his family when I saw him. However, when he was free for a minute, I managed to ask him if we could have a photo and when he said yes I felt amazed that he took a minute of his time to have a photo with me. Although I beat my PB on the half marathon, getting that photo with Sir Mo Farah made my whole day!”
