Academy Fellows to be judges for Expo 2020 UK Pavilion designer

Two Fellows from the Royal Academy of Engineering have been appointed to the expert judging panel that will decide the designer of the UK Pavilion at Expo 2020. Professor Dame Wendy Hall DBE FREng and Dr Mike Short CBE FREng were announced as judges by the Department for International Trade.

The World Expo, as it was then known, was first hosted at Crystal Palace, London in 1851 and now takes place every five years. Expo 2020 will take place in Dubai, with the UK showcasing innovation to an expected 25 million visitors from around the world. The theme for the event in Dubai will be Connecting Minds, Creating the Future, and the theme for the UK pavilion is Innovating for a Shared Future. The winning design will be announced later in 2018.
