Grantham College students take up Territorial Army catering challenge
Grantham College catering students recently accepted a challenge laid down by the Territorial Army
Students from the Hospitality and Catering department recently took accepted a challenge thrown down by the Territorial Army, and took part in an event at the town’s Prince William of Gloucester Barracks. A series of mental and physical tests followed, to test their grit and stamina – along with their cookery skills.
The two day challenge saw the students taking part in activities including tackling the assault course, completing a gun run, and trying their hand at field cookery. For the second year running and testament to their ability,
Course leader Ken Hart was justifiably proud of his students, and said, “Our students turned in a fantastic performance on the day and were unlucky to be pipped at the post. They comprehensively outperformed every college in the cookery section. Their enthusiasm, skills and commitment helped them to outperform teams from much bigger colleges. We’re all very proud of them."
