From education to employment

Join the Borders College Regional Board and help shape the future of the Borders and beyond

Borders College

@BordersCollege is delighted to have recently launched its Strategic Ambition for the next five years, which will respond to our regional and national socio-economic priorities as the leading provider for skills development in the Borders and beyond.

Our Regional Board has a significant role to play in shaping the future direction of the College and ensuring our ambition is realised. We are now seeking new members to join our Board who will support our continued success.

We are looking for individuals who share our commitment to providing the best possible learning experience, and who can represent the interests of the Borders economy and communities. If you have experience of health and social care, accounting, finance and audit or rural heritage and tourism, we would particularly like to hear from you.

However, we also welcome applications from those with experience of the key sectors across the Borders economy, as well as the broader needs of the education, public, private and third sectors in the region, and individuals with knowledge of business operations and governance.

Successful applicants will quickly have the ability to contribute to a dynamic Board, dealing with a wide range of strategic priorities and promoting the highest standards of governance. This will in turn assist the College’s mission to be a leading contributor to the economic and social development of the Scottish Borders and beyond through excellence in the provision of education, training and skills.

Borders College Principal Angela Cox said:

“As a progressive organisation, we are ambitious to play our part in a green and skills-led economic recovery. The opportunities for the Borders have never been better and Borders College, at the heart of our community, has a significant contribution to make in realising those opportunities. If you want to be part of that then please do get in touch“

Elaine Acaster, interim Chair of Borders College Regional Board, said:

” Board Members often find they gain as much as they contribute to governance, including insights into the role of the College in educational, economic and community developments. We look forward to applications from individuals who meet the selection criteria and can contribute to the governance of this successful forward-looking College. “
