ManageBac Awarded LTI Certification & Announces New Integration With TurnItIn

Faria Education Group, the learning platform provider for international schools, has received Learning Tools Interoperability® (LTI®) certification from the IMS Global Learning Consortium for its flagship service ManageBac.

With certification conforming to LTI v1.0 and LTI v1.1, ManageBac joins nearly 400 other IMS Global certificated learning technology providers. LTI has set the global standard for integrating applications and content systems in edtech, and the certification helps to ensure smooth integrations with key partners like TurnItIn.

ManageBac is a tailored curriculum-first learning platform serving over 2,300 international schools in 120 countries. It acts as a core repository of school’s curriculum and academic records, including attendance; assessment; coursework; and activities management.

The learning platform has offered integration services with TurnItIn since 2011, providing a seamless experience for uploaded student work to be checked for plagiarism, without having to separately login to TurnItIn.

TurnItIn’s new LTI integration has allowed ManageBac to further expand the integration scope to include direct student access to originality reports and the submission of multiple drafts per assignment. The new integration will benefit 700 schools around the world.

Angelica Nierras, Managing Director, Faria Education Group, said: “LTI certification, together with our broader Integration initiatives, represents our commitment to providing an integrated suite of systems for international education. LTI will allow us to rapidly broaden our integration-set over the coming months. We have been delighted to work with TurnItIn, to accelerate their adoption across the international schools market, while providing a harmonised workflow and experience for schools.”
