From education to employment

Mission Impossible Trip to London

Travel & Tourism students from Waltham Forest College recently embarked on a trip titled ‘Mission Impossible’ within London on Tuesday 11 October.

The aim of the trip was for students to experience first-hand a typical day out for a visitor to London, and to recognise the extensive variety of employment positions and opportunities within the industry.

Students worked in small groups of 3 and 4 following a designated and specially devised tourist trail whilst answering questions about famous London tourist landmarks in order to present their findings in a handwritten letter to a friend or relative who has not been to London before.

The students used various transport methods, having previously studied a map of the underground, and were tasked to meet at the fountain of Russell Square. They travelled on route to Liverpool Street Station, bypassing several London landmarks including St Paul’s Cathedral, the Old Bailey and the Bank of England.
