New Policing degree at City of Oxford of College
Activate Learning is launching a new Policing BA (Hons) Degree taught at City of Oxford College at a free information event on Tuesday 27 November, 5.30 – 7pm. The degree is awarded by the University of Northampton and is suitable for anyone interested in a career in policing or criminal justice.
At Activate Learning, we ensure that all our students enter competitive job markets with not only recognised academic qualifications, but also the attributes they need to succeed in the workplace. The BA (Hons) Policing degree will cover conflict resolution, problem solving and confidence building – in addition to criminology, criminal justice and professional policing theory and practice. It offers a wide-ranging skill set that can be used in a variety of careers.
From 2020 police officers will need a degree to be confirmed in post. By completing a policing degree at their local college, learners can benefit from reduced study costs, enjoy small class sizes with a vocational teaching focus and access one of the new degree entry routes into the police force. Policing graduates might also consider employment in the wider legal field, criminology, community development, Customs and Excise or The Border Force.
Applications for the new BA (Hons) Policing are being taken now through UCAS with the first course starting in September 2019. Staff and students will be on hand at the open evening to answer any questions about the programme and police career options.
The free information evening is on 27th November, 5.30 – 7pm, Room J101, City of Oxford College, Oxpens Road.
