Graham Hasting-Evans’ work in the skills sector and in driving UK productivity and upskilling the workforce has been recognised through fellowships to the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) and the World Academy of Productivity Science.

Graham’s selection to become a Fellow of both these acclaimed bodies demonstrates his contribution to the FE sector and his commitment to improving skills for all of the UK workforce as well as entrants to the world of work.

As a progressive educational charity, NOCN Group is the only awarding body in the UK which specialises in productivity and is focussed on increasing the UK’s competitiveness globally through its strategic partnerships with organisations like Learning & Work Institute and WorldSkills UK. This ethos originates from NOCN’s founding charitable objectives around increasing social mobility by creating opportunities for all through vocational and technical accredited learning.

NOCN Group managing director Graham Hasting-Evans has been selected to become a Fellow of the World Academy of Productivity Science; a global body of honourees who have made significant contributions to the world through their promotion of productivity science and practice. He will be inducted during a ceremony at the 19th World Productivity Congress in Chengdu, China, on 16-18 November 2019.

Thomas Tuttle, President of the World Academy of Productivity Science, said:

“As a new Fellow, Graham Hasting-Evans joins a distinguished group of people who have committed significant portions of their lives to helping to raise the living standards of people across the globe through productivity enhancement. It is my honour to welcome him as a member of this prestigious group.”

The World Academy of Productivity Science is part of the World Confederation of Productivity Science which links individuals and organisations around the globe who are committed to or want to explore productivity improvement as a means of creating wealth and improving the quality of life for regions and nations. Fellows of the Academy are identified and inducted as eminent, internationally recognised contributors to the field of productivity science, with a maximum of 500 Fellows at any one time.

Graham has also been selected as a Fellow to the WEA, the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education. Dedicated to bringing high-quality, professional education into the heart of communities which engage adults from all walks of life to raise aspirations and develop educational opportunities for the most disadvantaged.

Graham Hasting-Evans said:

“I am very grateful for the accolade of being named a Fellow of both the World Academy of Productivity Science and the WEA, not least because it gives me even more opportunities to network and engage with international partners on this hugely important issue for the UK. Only by working collaboratively with and learning from other organisations and nations can we make a real difference to our ability to compete on a world stage which is becoming more vital now than it ever has been. I’m looking forward to driving the NOCN Group onwards to achieve our five year plan and have significant impact on a wider scale.”

NOCN Group Chair of Trustees Gareth Jones said:

“We are pleased that Graham’s hard work and commitment to future skills is being recognised, being selected as a Fellow to two recognised bodies reaffirms his position as a leader in developing skills and boosting employability. Our five year plan is

ambitious but we are confident that with Graham’s leadership we will succeed in developing world-beating skills within our UK workforce and well as develop our international presence.”
