The Hart School pupils show off their skills on the dance floor

Dancers from a Rugeley school have taken centre stage to showcase their skills under the spotlight.

Junior and Senior Pupils, aged from 11 upwards, The Hart School, were “honoured” to take part in the Gotta Dance event, an annual, regional highlight, at Cannock’s Prince of Wales Theatre, this week.

Sixty pupils were amongst 600 young people, from across Cannock and Rugeley, to perform at the sold-out event which featured of range of amazing routines in contemporary dance, cheerleading, jazz, street and ballet.

The Hart School, part of Creative Education Trust, is one of a few schools to continue taking part in the event alongside a host of dedicated dance organisations.

“Fantastic ambassadors”

The school’s head of Sixth Form Ben Brennan said: “Both our Junior and Senior dance troupes were honoured to take part in this annual dancing showcase.

“After dedicating hours to rehearsing, they all performed brilliantly. We’re very proud of them. They were fantastic ambassadors for the school.”

The school’s dance troupes are no stranger to taking centre stage and in 2018 they even performed at Disney World in Florida.

Level 3 Dance now on offer

The Hart School Sixth Form decides its curriculum based on the needs of its intake and dance is just one of the subjects it’s excited to have added Level 3 Dance for this September in a response to listening to pupils.

The Hart School, in Penkridge Bank Road, Rugeley, was rated Good by Ofsted in March 2018. To find more out about the school visit
