Record Breaking A-Level Results at Salford City College!
Students at Salford City College’s Pendleton and Eccles Sixth Form Centres have once again achieved outstanding A-Level results. A remarkable 99% of A-Level students passed their exams.
One of these high achievers was 18-year-old Milan Patel who studied A-Levels in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics at Salford City College’s Pendleton Sixth Form Centre. His superb results (ABB) have secured him a place at the University of Liverpool where he will study Pharmacology.
Former Bedford High School pupil, said “I’m so happy I’ve secured my place at university, it’s nice that it was live on TV so that all my family in America could see how well I’ve done too.”
Another student who received superb results was 18-year-old, Emily Shaw, former St Patrick’s High School pupil who joined the College two years ago with all A* at GCSE. She has once again exceeded expectations by achieving A*A*A in her A-Level Biology, Geography and Chemistry. She said, “I’m so relieved and happy that I’ve got into my first choice studying Medicine at the University of Liverpool!”

Salford City College continues to go from strength to strength in regards to its success and results, this being verified by Ofsted who judged the College as ‘good’ in 2015. A £9m investment is currently underway to ensure that students study in state of the art facilities.
Earlier this year it was announced that Salford City College is the top General Further Education (GFE) College in Greater Manchester and has done the ‘Treble’ with the highest success rates for provision for 16-18 year olds, (86%) Adults, (89.5%) and Apprenticeships (81.6%). These outstanding results also place Salford City College within the top ten colleges in the country out of a total of 218 GFE colleges.
Salford City College is made up of five centres; Pendleton Sixth Form Centre, Eccles Centre, Walkden Centre, City Skills and its newest addition, FutureSkills @MediaCityUk. The College offers a wide range of courses; from traditional A-Levels, to exciting vocational courses, and Apprenticeships for those wishing to work and train in their chosen sector.
Applications for 2016 entry are being accepted now, and enrolment will be taking place in the week commencing 25 September. Open Evenings will take place from 26 September giving prospective students the opportunity to meet staff and current students.
