Barking & Dagenham College Students create Remembrance Day art

Students from @BarkingCollege are creating stunning pieces of artwork to commemorate Remembrance Day.

The pieces are being collated as part of a competition at the College to create posters on the theme ‘Remembrance Day’.

The first piece to have been received was done in pen and water colour and includes an image of a bright red poppy alongside soldiers and military aircraft. To highlight that Remembrance Day is used to remember the people who have died in all wars, it also features Florence Nightingale and Winston Churchill.

It is the work of art and design student Emmanuel Oreyeni, from Barking. On creating the piece, Emmanuel said: “I wanted to create an image that would make people aware of Remembrance Day, what it means and how important it is to know about. I hope people like it.”

The winners of the competition will be announced at the end of the week.
