Shireen Al-Khalili and Matt Dean discuss the AoC’s shared services project and how colleges can utilise cloud technology to improve efficiency.

The shared services project is a £6.5 million SFA funded programme to pilot collaboration across FE. The project is mainly centred around improving the efficiency of back office functions and it has already produced some very interesting results. Six lead colleges were given £4 million for pilot shared services projects and the by year three of the project it is anticipated that more than £15.5 million of efficiency savings will have been made.
