£450,000 of MBA Scholarships Help Engineers Move into Business Leadership Roles

David Falzani MBA, President of Engineers in Business Fellowship said,

“The annually awarded SMF scholarships not only help to advance the careers of the engineers, but the awardees also go on to make significant positive impacts in society; both economically and socially.  This cohort is keen to work in jobs that enable them to help reach climate change and other vital environmental targets.  The new SMFs will also create economic growth in blue-chip corporations, create jobs through entrepreneurial endeavours and mentor tomorrow’s engineers.

On graduation, the scholarship awardees will become Sainsbury Management Fellows (SMFs) and join the 375 strong alumni whose members champion business education for engineers in many ways including mentorship.

The latest SMF awardees are Lynda Nwike (Harvard); Xavier Echegaray Jaile, Dolapo Koku, Eris Skampis, Abhay Soorya, Jeremy Bateman Williams (all studying at INSEAD); Andrew Galpin (Kellogg), Bavly Obaid (IMD) and Alessio Piscopo (IESE).

The Sainsbury Management Fellows scholarship was established by Lord Sainsbury of Turville to ensure that there are more executives in UK boardrooms who have both technology and effective management skills, as do other prosperous industrial countries. This mix of engineering and business skills is proving successful as the graduated Sainsbury Management Fellows are making a difference in society.
