The Manchester College is celebrating after winning at the TES FE Awards 2021.

The College won the Employer Engagement category during the digital awards evening which recognises strategic and innovative approaches to delivering employers’ workforce development needs during the 2019-20 academic year.

The College was deemed the winner due to its work to establish the Industry Excellence Academy and its ongoing partnerships with employers to deliver co-created and co-delivered study programmes.

The prestigious TES FE Awards celebrates the staff and teams that are making a real difference to the lives of students. This year’s finals had been delayed due to the pandemic.

Principal Lisa O’Loughlin said:

“We are absolutely delighted to have won this prestigious award which reflects the great work we have done to align our curriculum offer with the needs of employers and ensure that every student is career ready when they complete a course with us.

“Via our Industry Excellence Academies, which offer courses that are co-developed and co-delivered with industry partners, and Centre’s of Excellence, we are able to not only offer extensive work placement opportunities but also raise and support the aspirations of our students and ensure that they reach their full potential so that they can go on to have a successful and rewarding career.

“This award is a testament to our approach and an amazing achievement. It is a credit to our Careers and Employability and curriculum teams’ hard work and commitment to ensuring our students aspire and achieve excellence in their learning and their future careers.”
