SCL Education announces four year partnership with Guild Esports to deliver esports study programme launching in September 2023
SCL Education has announced an exciting new venture with Guild Esports to offer BTEC qualifications in esports to 16 – 18 year olds across the UK, starting next academic year.
Guild Esports, a global team organisation and lifestyle brand backed by David Beckham, has announced the launch of its all-new Guild College – to provide a revolutionary career pathway for young people into apprenticeships, professional roles and higher education within the esports industry.
As a leading provider of BTEC qualifications and sports centred learning for a range of professional clubs including Leeds United College and West Ham Foundation, SCL Education will manage the newly launched one-year BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Esports and two-year BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Esports on behalf of Guild.
The careers-focused curriculum and educational provision, in collaboration with Guild, is all about ensuring that learners truly ‘stand out from the crowd’, combined with developing in-depth knowledge, technical skills and personal development so that they can succeed in developing future careers.
Guild’s world-class facilities will support programme delivery, including student access to the Sky Guild Gaming Centre in Shoreditch for technical and practical workshops. SCL Education and Guild will also be holding Parents Evenings and tours of the facility this month, to highlight all the benefits and opportunities available. Applications for the programme are open immediately and enrolment will occur from August 2023, welcoming learners in September 2023.
SCL Education will also be supporting Guild Academy growth through SCL Enigmaz (SCL Education’s esports division) and the delivery of elite programmes focused on pro-player coaching and tournaments. The SCL Enigmaz esports rosters will be entered into the British Esports Championships and benefit from Guild’s professional level support and development through professional Bootcamps. Regardless of skill levels, all learners will have the opportunity to develop their abilities in a range of different titles and receive professional coaching, mentoring and support throughout the academic year.
In addition, Guild will collaborate on all-year-round community programmes with SCL Active, SCL Education Group’s active childcare division. This new and exciting partnership will look to give school-age learners a taste of the esports and the digital sectors.
