Employers learn about digital marketing

Employers across the region attended anetworking event to find out how digital marketing can be used to help their business grow.

Attendees heard from Lance Brook, Digital Marketing Manager at Forward and Thinking, who talked about a range of digital products available to businesses to help them find and connect with customers and how to use the products effectively to maximise the success of the campaign.

Suzan McGladdery, Director of Business Development at Barnsley College provided an apprenticeship update, which included sharing how employers can benefit from employing an apprentice and how Barnsley College can help them recruit an apprentice or up-skill an existing workforce.

Lance said: “It was a pleasure to speak at the breakfast event and connect with local businesses. It was fantastic to be able to give an overview on a range of tools and products and understand the challenges businesses have when it comes to marketing themselves on digital platforms.”

Suzan added: “The event was a fantastic opportunity to meet people working in different sectors and explain how we provide businesses with a bespoke service to allow them to access funding and training support.”

Registration has now opened for the next employer breakfast event which will be hosted at Barnsley College on Wednesday 12 December and will help businesses to prepare for the introduction of new financial reforms in April 2019.

Attendees will hear from Paul Hinchliffe, Partner, and Jon Taylor, Cloud Accounting Manager at Harris+Co, who will explain what Making Tax Digital for VAT is, how it will affect you, what you can do to ensure your business is ready and what software packages will make your journey to Making Tax Digital for VAT as smooth as possible. They will also demonstrate some of the features these packages offer which make bookkeeping much simpler than it used to be.
