Filton College to hold Schools Open Week!!

Filton College to hold Schools Open Week!! Filton College has invited eight schools from across Bristol and South Gloucestershire to partake in our annual Schools Open Week programme. Students currently in year 10 will have the opportunity to come along for a day to experience college life. This will help them to choose which courses they might like to do when they leave year 11 next year. Schools Open Week commences on 7th July and will be held at both the Main Campus and WISE (West Institute of Specialised Education). Students will have the opportunity to view the facilities on offer in addition to discussing options of study for the future. Each school will undertake three lessons throughout the day and can engage in a range of activities in the following areas: * Land Based * Performing Arts * Art and Design * Sport * Early Years * Construction * Engineering Natalie Zullo, Schools Liaison Officer comments: “Some students are unsure of which subject to choose when finishing year 11. Here at Filton we aim to give students a taster of what to expect when entering Further Education, which will help in the transaction period of progressing from school to college life.” For further information please contact Natalie Zullo, Schools Liaison Officer on 01179 092234 or by e-mail at [email protected] Sara-Jane Watkins Assistant Principal – Employer Engagement, HE and Skills.
