Leeds Trinity University partners with Capita to support teachers completing the Early Career Framework

Leeds Trinity University has collaborated with the Department for Education (DfE)’s main provider, Capita, to offer support to those working towards their Early Career Framework (ECF).

The ECF, which will become compulsory for early career teachers from September 2021, will provide teachers with a structured two-year package of high-quality professional development.

Designed in close partnership with teachers, headteachers, academics, the Chartered College of Teaching and the Education Endowment Foundation, the ECF underpins what teachers should learn and how to do it based on expert guidance and research.

The new framework is part of the government’s teacher recruitment and retention strategy, which aims to improve the training and development opportunities available to teachers nationwide.

Capita has been accredited by the DfE as a main provider and will be a local delivery partner for schools in the north of England. Leeds Trinity University will partner with Capita to offer teaching and support services, assisting schools, Early Career Teachers and mentors in completing their statutory Early Career Framework training from September 2021.
