Photography students raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust

Talented photography and graphics students from Cambridge Regional College are using their creative skills to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust – turning their collection of photographs into Christmas cards, calendars and gift tags.

The students’ stunning views of Cambridge proved a big hit at the Mill Road Winter Fair, with visitors snapping up their work – and two customers providing an unexpected bonus for the charity by paying with rare coins.

The two 50p coins were only noticed when the students were adding up their takings at the end of the day and will be sold on eBay to raise more money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Tutor Lillian Bixler said: “We’re hoping the coins will provide an extra boost for the charity – even a few pounds would help. We’re keen to raise as much as we can for the charity so we’re planning to continue selling the cards and calendars until the end of term.”

The students are also selling their work externally by post in the run-up to Christmas. To see their work, go to https://lillian4crc.wordpress.com/2016/11/28/all-products/. For more information, email Lillian at [email protected].
