From education to employment

University-level study at Barnsley College

Barnsley College welcomes prospective students to its next Higher Education (HE) Open Day on Saturday 29 June between 11.00am and 2.00pm.

Barnsley College offers a range of Higher National Certificates and Diplomas (HNC/Ds), degrees and Higher Apprenticeships which are taught at the Church Street campus in the heart of Barnsley.

A wide variety of full and part-time courses are available in subjects including Animal Management, Art, Business, Construction, Media, Sport, plus much more. Flexible study options are available and some courses only require a few hours study per week at the campus making it easier to fit studying around work or home life.

Andrea Clarke, Director of Quality for HE, said:

“Studying HE at Barnsley College will enable you to benefit from high academic standards, expert staff who are passionate about their subjects, excellent facilities and, on many courses, professional experience through placements. This means that by the time you graduate you will already have a CV to be proud of. Whether you want to continue your studies after college or you’re a mature student looking to retrain, we have a course for you.

“Competition in the job market is fierce and a higher level course provides the best possible chance for career progression. Many employers look for graduates to fill vacancies and having a qualification can open more doors. So now is the perfect time to start thinking about studying a HE course.”

Visitors to the Open Day will have the opportunity to speak to tutors, find out about the range of support services available, learn more about the course fees which start at just £5,995 per year for a full-time course, take a look at the fantastic facilities available at the Church Street campus and see how the College will help students to successfully obtain the skills and knowledge required to progress on to their chosen careers.

Andrea added: “I feel passionate about education, opening the doors to those people who may never have considered a higher level course and nurturing them to reach their full potential. I’m thoroughly looking forward to welcoming prospective students to our Open Day on 29 June.”

Everyone is welcome to attend the Higher Education Open Day at Barnsley College on Church Street, Barnsley. Register in advance or just turn up on the day.
