Tallying up top marks at the UK Mathematics Trust Challenge
NPTC Group of Colleges’ AS and A Level students scored highly in the UK Mathematics Trust Challenge gaining multiple awards, with 13 achieving bronze, one silver and two gold certificates.
These challenges are organised annually by the UK Mathematics Trust, a registered charity which aims to advance the education of children and young people in mathematics. The questions stimulate mathematical reasoning, precision of thought and fluency encouraging students to use mathematical techniques to solve problems.
Over 82,000 pupils from across the UK returned scripts with the top 10% achieving a gold, the next 20% silver and the next 30% bronze.
Tessa Jennings, Head of the Sixth Form Academy at NPTC Group of Colleges, commented: “These impressive achievements highlight the natural mathematical talent of our students in this national competition and we are delighted to be able to award them with their certificates.”
