Apprentices must complete 20% of their contracted hours worth
20% of contracted hours must be off the job training. Apprentices will log these hours into software, such as Onefile, to keep track of this.

August 1st, 2022, rules change for off-the-job requirement. Instead of 20% of contracted hours, apprentices must now complete 6 hours a week, no matter their contracted hours. This will remove many barriers to apprentices that employers face.
This figure was chosen as it represents 20% of 30 hours, which all part-time apprentices are currently doing.
The 6 hours per week is for calculation purposes only; once calculated the programme can still be delivered flexibly
