Mark Froud appointed MD of Alliance of Sector Skills Councils

The Alliance of Sector Skills Councils has appointed Mark Froud as its new managing director.

Froud, formerly chief executive of Sussex Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise, was also director of the British Chambers of Commerce until May 2012.

At the Alliance he will play a key role in supporting the network of employer owned skills bodies to ensure training and qualifications are fit for purpose. The Alliance also works to forge partnerships within education and skills to increase the productivity of all employers.

Interim chief officer Richard Beamish said: “We are so pleased that Mark is on board and able to take up the reins at such an important time for skills.

“By ensuring dialogue and bringing together geographical and sectoral interests there is a real opportunity to improve further the relevance and application of skills programmes to efficiency and effectiveness in the workplace.”
