John Gray, Director of Further Education, Emsi

John Gray has joined Emsi as Director of Further Education, where he will play a key role in managing strategic customer relationships and ensuring that our tools provide innovative solutions for the FE market.

John is a well known face in the FE world, having worked in senior management roles at Chesterfield College as Assistant Principal of Marketing & Engagement, where he led the growth of Learning Unlimited, the successful Employer Engagement arm of the College, and more recently at Sheffield College as Director of Marketing and Strategy.

During his time at Sheffield, John was responsible for a number of areas, including student recruitment, product development and organisational business planning.

Amongst many other achievements, he helped the college achieve strong external student recruitment despite the declining demographic across the region; led a successful rebranding of the College along with a considerable increase in promotional activity across the City; and played a pivotal role in leading the business development function and expanding the employer engagement team which supported apprenticeship growth in its early stages.

With his wealth of experience and enthusiam for the FE sector, I am quite sure that John will bring a whole range of positive benefits for the people and colleges he will be working with. As John commented:

“I am very excited to join Emsi in this newly created role. I have always been a big advocate of Emsi products and the significant benefits which they can bring to the sector. I have considerable experience in FE and am looking forward to sharing this with our clients moving forward.”
