Exploring and Advancing Technology Innovations in Skills
An inspiring one-day conference hosted by GVS in collaboration with BCoT
On Wednesday 14 March 2018, Global Vocational Skills hosted our first conference: Exploring and Advancing Technology Innovations in Skills and we are delighted and proud to say that it was a great success!
It was delivered in collaboration with Basingstoke College of Technology, who just a week before won the 2018 TES FE Award for ‘Outstanding use of technology for improving teaching, learning and assessment’.
A lot of time and energy went into putting together a quality itinerary, with thought provoking presentations and engaging workshops, that would stimulate and provide a platform for open discussion and the sharing of experiences.
This was fully embraced by all those who attended, and we were thrilled to see such active involvement and participation throughout.
As colleges begin to explore the many ways they can embed digital within the curriculum, the conference provided the opportunity to explore on-the-ground case studies of how technology and blended learning have already been successfully adopted within colleges.
It also provided a great networking opportunity for those who attended, with over 40 people present from both colleges and private companies within the FE sector.

We hope that the day gave everyone plenty of food for thought! We know how important it is that digital technology is utilised by colleges to stay on trend and provide effective and efficient learning, and we strongly believe blended learning is the way to do this.
We’ve seen BCoT achieve fantastic results through this approach, utilising GVS content as one of their many digital strands, and by truly embracing digital your establishment and its learners can also experience the benefits.
