Key criteria for winners was an ability to make a difference in the lives of learners and a willingness to exceed expectations and enrich the learning experience. Ceremony attendees included Kim Howells, Minister of State for Lifelong Learning, Further Education and Higher Education, who commented that “The contribution that front-line staff in the learning and skills sector make every day to people’s lives and aspirations is crucial to the Government’s drive to improve standards. The winners have all shown ways of helping students reach their potential through life-changing experiences in learning.”
