Three of the current AELP Board have been among AELP members honoured in Her Majesty’s New Year’s Honours List.

AELP Directors Debbie Gardiner (Executive Chair of Qube Learning), Alex Khan (Chief Executive of Lifetime Training) and Chris Jeffery (Non-Executive Director of Skills Group UK) were all recognised with MBEs. Also in receipt of this award were Richard Carter, Governor of West Suffolk College, and Michael Finney, Director of Admissions and Marketing at South Cheshire College.

Across the wider sector, former NIACE Chief Executive Alan Tuckett received a knighthood, as did Ken Olisa, Chairman and Trustee of Shaw Trust.

AELP CEO Mark Dawe said:

‘It is fantastic to see leaders from the independent provider sector gain recognition for the passion and commitment that they show in driving forward the skills and social mobility agendas. They share a determination in ensuring that the young people on their apprenticeship and other training programmes are getting the best possible support and AELP is absolutely delighted that they are being rewarded for it.’
