From education to employment

Bradford educational centre celebrates its Traineeship Week, helping to encourage youth into employment

Leading national recruitment and training solutions provider, Qube Learning, are celebrating their Traineeship Week at their Kick Start Centre (9 Rawson Pl, Bradford, BD1 3QQ) from 31 January. The week is dedicated to jobseekers interested in Traineeships, a government funded opportunity, with immediate start dates with fantastic Employers.

The educational hub offers support for those aged 16-24 looking to get into work, alongside offering parental and guardian information. From Monday 31st January to Friday 4th February, there will be useful information about the career enhancing opportunities and an abundance of prizes to win, such as a laptop, shopping vouchers, and more!

A Traineeship is a training programme designed to prepare you for your future career. Not only do they give you an opportunity to sample what it’s like to work in a certain industry or sector while gaining a qualification, Traineeships also help you learn the essential skills that Employers want and need from their workforce, helping improve your chances of getting an Apprenticeship or other job with them. As well as helping you build your CV, Traineeships offer you:

  • Work experience, with a guaranteed interview at the end of your placement.
  • Work preparation training, giving you the skills and confidence needed to take the first step in your career.
  • Maths and English support, so you can develop these skills further, if required.
  • If you want to work but feel a little unsure of your skills and would benefit from some hands-on experience, a Traineeship could be just right for you. All you need is to be keen to work, unemployed or working less than 16 hours a week, aged 16-24 with no qualifications at Level 3 (qualifications from college or sixth form), and a positive attitude.
  • You won’t get paid doing a Traineeship, although your Employer will sometimes cover the cost of things like food and travel (expenses). However, your Employer will be covering the cost of the Traineeship programme and associated qualifications.

Adrian Grove, Business Development Director of Qube Learning, says: ‘I’m a firm believer in continued learning and expanding your skill set through further education or training; it’s a valuable way to keep growing. It’s a chance to show the world what you are capable of. As the saying goes, ‘knowledge is power’ and self-belief is important – if you don’t see your worth, then who will? Find your path and keep going, there are so many great industries looking for inspiring people like you. Qube Learning’s Traineeship Week is letting people know conventionality isn’t always the way to go. Thinking outside of tradition can be enlightening and can prove to be the right way to professional and personal triumph’.
