A statutory direction issued to Blackpool borough council due to poor performance in children’s social care services.

Details

This direction requires the council to take steps to improve its children’s social care services, including co-operating with the DfE appointed Children’s Services Commissioner Helen Lincoln and Essex county council.

It follows a report by Ofsted that judged the overall effectiveness of the council’s children’s social care services to be inadequate.

We have replaced this direction with a revised direction issued on 22 July 2019.
