From education to employment

University-level study at Barnsley College

Barnsley College welcomes prospective students to its next Higher Education (HE) Open Day on Monday 19 August.

Those interested in studying university-level courses will have the opportunity to talk to tutors, get information on student finance, find out about student life and learn about the full and part-time study available at the event, which runs in two sessions from 2.00pm to 4.00pm and 6.00pm to 8.00pm.

The College offers a range of Higher National Certificates and Diplomas (HNC/Ds), degrees and Higher Apprenticeships which are taught at the Church Street campus in the heart of Barnsley.

A wide variety of full and part-time courses are available in subjects including Animal Management, Business, Construction, Health, Media and Travel and Tourism, plus much more. Flexible study options are available and some courses only require a few hours study per week at the campus making it easier to fit studying around work or home life.

Andrea Clarke, Director of Quality for HE, said: “Studying HE at Barnsley College will enable you to benefit from high academic standards, expert staff who are passionate about their subjects, excellent facilities and, on many courses, professional experience through placements. This means that by the time you graduate you will already have a CV to be proud of. Whether you want to continue your studies after college or you’re a mature student looking to retrain, we have a course for you.

“I feel passionate about education, opening the doors to those people who may never have considered a higher level course and nurturing them to reach their full potential. I’m thoroughly looking forward to welcoming prospective students to our Open Day on 19 August.”
