From education to employment

It’s up, up and away for Filton College’s Air Industry students

It’s up, up and away for Filton College’s Air Industry students Filton College is pleased to announce that the first year of its Air Industry course has been a flying success. In September 2007, Filton College was the first institution in the Country to join forces with Servisair at Bristol International Airport to launch the new Air Industry course. This exciting, employer led programme has offered students the chance to learn skills employers want from employees within the industry. The course has been specifically designed for learners who wish to progress to a career within the airport and airline industry, either in the air or on the ground. Servisair (one of the leading global operators in aviation ground services) provides learners with a weeks work experience at Bristol International Airport, in addition to a guaranteed job interview. Of those that undertook this opportunity of a job interview, 100% gained employment within Bristol International Airport. On completion of the course students will benefit from having a wide range of skills and experience that enable them to choose a variety of job opportunities or alternatively progress onto a BTEC National Diploma. Course content includes: Certificate in airline passenger services Certificate in airline cabin crew Certificate in travel agency competence Certificate in customer service (travel and tourism) Certificate in foreign language (Spanish & Italian) Certificate in volunteering Key skills For further information on courses please contact Helen Ceo, Course Leader on 01179 092332 or e-mail [email protected] JPEG attached of learners.
