Total People win Learning Provider of the Year Award – Skills for Business Awards 2017

The team at North West-based Total People are celebrating after beating incredibly strong competition to win the Learning Provider of the Year Award at the Skills for Business Awards 2017.

Total People – part of LTE group, the UK’s largest social enterprise dedicated to skills and training – was one of nine organisations shortlisted for the award, which recognised skills providers and colleges delivering significant skills training in Greater Manchester. The award also sought to showcase an organisation with a proven track record of effectively engaging businesses to identify skills needs and delivering workforce training with real business benefits.

Now in its fourth year, the Skills for Business Awards recognises and celebrates the direct impact learning has on businesses, individuals and communities in Greater Manchester. The event took place on Thursday 30 November at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford. Linda Dean, Managing Director of Total People, and Stuart Sheppard, Chair of Total People’s Employee Forum, were in attendance to collect the accolade on behalf of the team.

Linda said: “We were thrilled to be a finalist, but to win the Learning Provider of the Year Award is an unbelievable achievement. I cannot put into words how proud I am of the team.

“I look forward to sharing this news with our colleagues, employers and learners, and continuing to deliver training that benefits the employers and learners we work with and the communities in which they operate.”

Total People retained a ‘Good’ grade when inspected by Ofsted earlier this year. The report praised Total People’s strong partnerships with employers, which help apprentices develop a good range of personal, social and employability skills.
