VTCT, an awarding and assessment organisation for technical qualifications in service sectors, officially presented West London College with a bursary worth £5,000 earlier this month (13 Nov 2019). The  funds are to support Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy students who might otherwise be prevented from accessing education due to their personal circumstances.

The students the bursary will help include looked after children, care leavers, students from low incomes, students who are black or from ethnic minorities, those with caring responsibilities or students who have an educational healthcare plan. The bursary funds will be used to buy kits and uniforms, support students with the costs of entering competitions and to pay for guest speakers.

Curriculum Manager, Denise Charles said: “West London College is so thrilled to have received this generous bursary from VTCT. This money will go a long way to ensuring that less advantaged students have every opportunity to thrive and grow at the College.”
