This week, we welcome Auriel Majumdar, Creative Coach, Supervisor and Consultant to the (virtual) booth, as we discuss how individuals can maintain purpose and confidence and recognise the positives during a time of increasing uncertainty.

Helen Armitage – A Senior Employability Adviser for the College of Social Sciences and Arts at Sheffield Hallam University. Helen leads on the Hallam Career Mentoring Scheme and primarily supports the department of Art and Design with in-curriculum careers delivery.

Chris Webb – An Employability Adviser at Sheffield Hallam University, Chris supports the Gradvantage programme for final year students and graduates, as well as collaborating with the College of Business, Technology and Engineering on in-curriculum careers delivery.

Our Guests:

Auriel Majumdar – Auriel Majumdar is a Creative Coach, Coach Supervisor and Consultant with more than 20 years’ experience working in organisations as manager, leader, strategist and change maker. In her coaching practice, Auriel specialises in business, leadership and personal development in the creative sector. Her coaching, supervision and facilitation practices have a particular emphasis on the use of creative techniques to challenge individuals and groups to reflect on their experiences so they can continuously learn and develop.

Formerly Course Leader of the MSc in Coaching and Mentoring at Sheffield Hallam University, Auriel now teaches on the course as an Executive in Residence. In 2018 she was nominated by her students for Sheffield Business School’s Inspirational Teaching Award with the following citation:

“An engaging and inspirational teacher and coach – combines theory with stories from their professional practice and brilliantly creative activities to deliver their subject with warmth, humour and depth”.

Auriel has a BSc. in Psychology from Durham University and a MSc. in Coaching and Mentoring from Sheffield Hallam University. She is an accredited Time to Think coach (http://www.timetothink.com/) and has Post Graduate Certificates in Teaching in Higher Education and in City Leadership.

Auriel is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC), accredited at Master Practitioner level, practising within the EMCC’s Code of Ethics https://emccuk.org/standards-ethics/code-of-ethics/
