The Commission wants everyone in low pay to have the opportunity and support to progress in work andincrease their earnings. The Commission’s report identifies the multiple barriers faced by those in low pay looking to progress and sets out key actions that governments at every level across the UK, employers and others should take to minimise and remove these barriers.
The report looks into:
- the low-paid on Universal Credit: DWP’s role in progression
- promoting a culture of lifelong learning
- the role of business and employers in progression
- public procurement and progression: unlocking social value on the good work agenda
- transport and childcare
