50,000 Learners successfully used our Prevent resources for Learners
Side by Side, is a free online learner resource from the Education & Training Foundation (ETF), which can help raise confidence in understanding the dangers of extremism and radicalisation and help in the teaching of British values.
Currently more than 50,000 learners have enrolled onto the well-received Side by Side Prevent duty awareness modules.
Sadly, extremism and radicalisation are not problems which are going to disappear in the near future.
None of us would want any of our learners to be groomed by extremists into behaviour which can have devastating consequences for them, their families and of course the victims of any violent extremist action.
One provider explained why they value the modules: “Our learners are some of the most difficult to engage with – from PRU backgrounds. I have to say they were really well-engaged and really enjoyed the e-learning and seemed to get a lot out of it, the videos stimulated lots of discussions. I was even more surprised to find that, when they went on the e-learning modules, their recall was especially good.”
The modules, which are funded by the Department for Education (DfE), cover the dangers of radicalisation and extremism, online safety, deciding what you can trust and explore British values and how they apply in everyday life.
The materials are designed for learners from Entry 3 to Level 3 across the FE and Training sector.
The resources have been structured, so that they can be used independently by learners in the workplace or in classroom situations. There is also a facilitator guide with activities to explore the issues raised in more depth.
