The UK’s largest plant, tool and equipment hire company is celebrating after being highly commended at the North West regional final of the National Apprenticeship Awards 2019.

Organised by the National Apprenticeship Service, the regional awards in the North West, which are now in their 16th year, celebrate outstanding apprentices, employers and individuals who go above and beyond to champion apprenticeships across England.

The British Army Award for Large Employer of the Year recognises those employers who have placed apprenticeships at the heart of their business.

A-Plant’s Head of Training, Bob Harper said, the company was thrilled to receive a glowing recognition in the British Army Award for Large Employer of the Year. He commented:

“We are delighted to have been awarded highly commended at the prestigious awards for a third year in a row.

“Apprentices are a vital part of A-Plant’s future and this latest acknowledgement is testament to the company’s continued commitment to training the next generation of future leaders.

“This year we committed £2.5m to our apprenticeship programmeand we currently have over 140 apprentices in all areas. In addition we have also introduced several new apprentice streams – such as Accommodation Maintenance, along with our existing opportunities in engineering and customer service to plant maintenance and driving.

“Apprentices bring fresh new eyes to the workplace and contribute to a healthy and dynamic environment for the whole team. On successfully graduating 100% of our apprentices are given full-time employment.

“We’re extremely proud that our apprenticeship scheme has become much sought after and widely recognised across the industries we operate in.”

A-Plant’s commendation was announced during an awards ceremony at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool.
