Errigal Contracts and North West Regional College provide new jobs for 15 young Apprentices

15 young men from the North West have begun a two year apprenticeship in Interior Systems, with Errigal Contracts as part of a new partnership with North West Regional College (NWRC).

The new apprentices were presented with their official uniforms and Errigal gear when they attended the induction evening recently at Greystone Campus in Limavady.

Operations Manager with Errigal Contracts, Peter McCloskey, welcomed all of the apprentices on board, and attendees were given a detailed presentation of the company and a breakdown of what the apprentices would learn over the two year period.

Peter McCloskey said: “I’d like to welcome all of our new recruits to the team. Formed in 1996, Errigal Contracts is a family run business and we are delighted to be able to offer this fantastic opportunity to young people in the area.”

During the two-year programme, students will learn skills in college to achieve a City & Guilds Award; work with top professionals on jobs across the UK and Ireland, and earn top apprenticeships wages.

John Cartin, Deputy Head of Training and Skills at NWRC said: “

 “The partnership will deliver a Level 2 Apprenticeship programme that offers fulltime employment, qualifications and the opportunity to progress into site management.

“All this while earning top apprentice wages, having all tools supplied plus continuous H&S training that keeps employees safe at work.

 “The investment by the company in each trainee is in the region of £30,000 over a two year apprenticeship programme, the company see this investment as money well spent having a skilled, qualified and safe  team moving forward into the 21st century. “

Errigal Contracts are the market leader in the interior fitout sector for Ireland, the UK and Mainland Europe. They specialise in partitioning, ceiling systems and bespoke solutions. Errigal have committed to train and upskill 200 young people over the next 3 years, many of whom will become the future site managers and project managers in the industry.”
