From education to employment

Learning Curve Group preferred provider for Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust have appointed one of the UK’s leading providers of training and recruitment services, Learning Curve Group, as their preferred provider to deliver Apprenticeship Levy provision and their wider training needs.

Co. Durham based Learning Curve Group (LCG) have worked successfully with Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust for over two years delivering English and mathematics qualifications. However, the introduction of the Apprenticeship levy means a shift in focus and the contract of up to £2 million over the next three years will facilitate around 127 apprenticeships within the Trust and will include new apprenticeship standards in Business Administration, Customer Service, Team Leading, Management and Pharmacy Support.

LCG, who are at the forefront of these changes, are working with both Levy paying employers to utilise their Levy pot and SME’s who only need to contribute 10% towards apprenticeship training.

Recent changes in apprenticeship legislation mean that eligible employers must contribute 0.5% of their turnover to the Apprenticeship Levy, which can then be used to fund apprenticeship training.  This training can be offered at a range of levels to both new and existing employees regardless of previous academic achievements, opening up a host of development opportunities.

However, LCG and the Trust are building upon their existing relationship and going ‘beyond the levy’ by working with the employees of the Trust to offer much more than apprenticeships.

Existing Trust employees will be looking to benefit from the partnership, with those not undertaking an apprenticeship eligible for LCG’s fully-funded vocational qualifications in a range of exciting subjects. LCG will also continue to offer the popular English and maths qualifications.

LCG will also be holding welcome sessions, individual workshops, and creating bespoke learning materials for the Trust.

Learning Curve Group CEO, Brenda McLeish said;

“We are very excited to build upon the successful work we have already delivered with Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust. The Levy brings brand new opportunities for the Trust employees and over the years we have come to fully understand their training requirements and therefore we can help them utilise their levy funds. We look forward to many more successful years helping them with their training and recruitment needs.”

NLAG NHS Foundation Trust’s Training and Development Manager, Rachel Maguire said;

We are delighted to have appointed Learning Curve Group as our Apprenticeship Levy partner. We have worked with LCG for some time now and we have had great success in the past especially in delivering English and mathematics qualifications to our employees.

LCG support us with all aspects of management of the Apprenticeship Levy from building bespoke apprenticeship programmes that align to business objectives to support with admin tasks and production of marketing material – these are invaluable services!

Our dedicated account manager has been key to successful implementation and mobilisation of our Levy project and we are excited about the future successes for our staff and the business”
