From education to employment

NUS SCOTLAND RESPOND TO SCOTTISH GREEN PARTY MANIFESTO

Commenting, NUS Scotland President Liam McCabe said:

“There is much to welcome in the Scottish Greens manifesto for Scotland’s students. Post-study work visas, votes at 16, a Real Living Wage for all, a fairer immigration system and concerted action to tackle the climate emergency are just some of the issues NUS Scotland are calling for candidates to adopt.  We’re pleased to see them prioritised in the Scottish Greens’ manifesto.

“While education is devolved, public funding available for education and skills in Scotland goes up or down due to decisions taken by the UK Parliament. Whatever the result of the general election, the next UK Government must increase public investment, to ensure additional resource is available to Scotland’s education system. Scotland’s students deserve nothing less.”
