Performing arts student told to ‘follow your passion’

Kieran Littler, performing arts student at Clarendon Sixth Form College has been inspired to work in comedy after taking part in a workshop by comedian, Tom Short.

Kieran auditioned for a degree in comedy at Salford University after Tom visited the college to conduct a workshop on stand-up comedy and script writing.

Giving advice to Kieran, Tom said:

“The best advice I can give you is to just go out and follow your passion. Don’t hold back if this is something you want to do. You have to put 100 percent into it.”

On script writing, Tom also commented: “You have to build on your writing skills and get your friends to give you feedback until you get it perfect and eventually you’ll find your niche.”

Tom is in the top 10 ‘ones to watch’ list at the Frog and Bucket Comedy Club and is a rising star in the Manchester comedy scene.
