Barnsley College launch new Higher Apprenticeship

Barnsley College has launched a new Associate Project Manager Higher Apprenticeship.

The Level 4 apprenticeship has been developed by employers within the industry. It will allow new and existing employees who have prior project management experience or knowledge to gain a recognised qualification in the profession.

Apprentices will learn about project leadership and governance, budgeting and cost control and resource management, along with stakeholder and communications management and consolidated planning.

Studying within the workplace and attending classes at Barnsley College, applicants should hold a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4/C or above and the programme will take a minimum of 24 months to complete. Upon completion students will be eligible to be an Associate Member of the Association for Project Management (APM) or apply for job roles including Assistant Project Manager, Junior Project Manager or Project Team Member.

Angela Kerley, Head of Business, Warehousing and Logistics at Barnsley College, said: “I’m excited to launch this new apprenticeship programme as it allows the College to expand its range of business training.”
