From education to employment

Rhys Carey Wins Construction Award

NPTC Group of Colleges would like to congratulate Rhys Carey, who has won the Worshipful Livery Company of Wales Construction Award.

The Brecon Beacons College student is currently employed with SGG Project Management Ltd, and was rewarded for his hard work and achievements since pursuing a career in the industry.

Rhys was presented with his award by Keith Shankland, Court Assistant at the Worshipful Livery Company of Wales (WLCOW) while SGG Project Management Ltd Director Steve Groenow, carpentry lecturer Graham Strangward and Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) representative Clare Ward also attended the ceremony.

Rhys has found his interest to be within the renovation side of carpentry, and enjoys the creativity and specialist side of the work.

He hopes to build on his skills and perhaps one day run his own enterprise abroad.

Find out more about our carpentry courses we offer by attending our open evening on June 26th, or by contacting Graham Strangward at [email protected]
