School pupils get expert support at Clarendon Sixth Form College
Pupils from Longdendale High School gain an insight into the next steps of education and future careers at Clarendon Sixth Form College with art workshops.
The pupils were given expert advice and guidance by the college’s teachers on their current GCSE art coursework and starting a career in the creative sector. They were also shown the various facilities available to students in the creative studies department.
Lucy Hamilton, head of art at Longdendale High School, said: “It was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to see what being a college student is like and to work with some amazing teachers who have a wide breadth of knowledge. The teachers gave individual advice to each student and really helped them develop their work.”
Ruth James, head of department for creative studies at Clarendon Sixth Form College, said: “The level of work that some of the pupils are producing is amazing. They took feedback from our teachers in a very grown up way and came away with lots of ideas to develop. We hope that some of them will join Clarendon Sixth Form College in the near future.”
