Hales Group Kickstarters Offered Permanent Positions in Diss and Thetford

Following the completion of their Kickstart placements, Amelia and Kia are delighted to have been offered permanent employment at @HalesGroup.

Hales Group are proud to announce that two members of staff who joined the company last year under the Government’s Kickstart scheme, will join the Diss and Thetford branches as permanent members of staff.

The recruitment specialist and care provider first took the opportunity to join the scheme as it believed it was a fantastic opportunity to help young people into work, who have faced unemployment and depleting job prospects due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The £2 billion Kickstart scheme was announced by the Chancellor in September 2020 and enables employers to offer six-month placements to 16-24-year-olds, with any funds going towards the costs of recruitment and training.

Amelia and Kia began their Kickstart journey in December and have delighted those who have supported and mentored them during their placement.

Diane Overton, Managing Consultant for Hales Jobs in Thetford, had this to say: “When Kia first joined us under the Kickstart Scheme, she had never worked within an office environment and lacked confidence.”

“With the help and support of the scheme, we were able to follow a tailored training plan and offer continued support by way of weekly one-to-ones, and were, therefore, able to set learning new skills at a pace most comfortable to Kia.”

“The more responsibility and new skills are given to Kia, the more she flourished and gained in confidence. We are now extremely proud that Kia has become so knowledgeable and competent and such a valued member of our team, she has agreed to join us on a permanent basis.” Concludes Diane.

Amelia received equally glowing praise from Megan Reeve, Managing Consultant for Hales Jobs in Diss; “Amelia joined us under the Kickstart Scheme six months ago with a small amount of administration experience. With the support of the scheme, training plans, one-to-ones and her team, she has been able to provide excellent support to our team in Diss.”

“Amelia has shown willingness, determination and positivity during her training period and has great potential. We look forward to supporting her in her career at Hales Group on a permanent basis.”
