During #NationalApprenticeshipWeek @SouthwarkCollege in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions (@DWP) will host a Virtual Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair on Tuesday 9 February to help local people into Apprenticeships or employment.
UK unemployment is predicted to reach 2.6 million in the middle of 2021, to tackle this issue Southwark College and the DWP will deliver this event to help local people into employment or to find an apprenticeship.
Annette Cast, Principal said: “We are proud to host this event with the Department for Work and Pensions to help tackle unemployment in the local community, showcase the many benefits of the apprenticeships, encourage people to re-engage with education, and consider the different options available to them to get back into employment and achieve their career ambitions.”
The Fair will provide support to help attendees achieve their career aspirations and spread the word about the many benefits of apprenticeships, such as learning practical skills on the job, earning a wage, and gaining a nationally recognised qualification.
Attendees will also be able to meet local employers recruiting for jobs and apprenticeships, book onto CV and Interview Skills sessions, and find out about financial support schemes available.
